Today begins my two weeks notice. My employment is being terminated, not by my choice, but due to the terms of the buyout of this agency by a ginormous corporation whose name I shall not mention here. I will receive a wicked awesome 6-month severance package with full pay and health insurance, which I plan to milk to the fullest.

I'm thinking I might become like to stick with something pretty similar to insurance, like, I don't know, maybe Republican Party campaign advisor? Dishwasher? Columbian coke lord? Who knows.

Anyway, as if my "blogging" weren't eratic enough as it is, this lifestyle change will effectively sever my internet access entirely for an entirely indeterminate amount of time. I'm sure I will "blog" again once before that time though.

I scare-quote the word "blog" because I often feel shameful (bro) for not being all boijngboijng with it, a la interesting/useful information, but, rather, retardo personal nonsense or total nonsequitor gibberish. So take that Megatron.

The other day, a very good friend of mine got a DUI. A police officer woke him up in the driver's seat of his truck, which was sitting, running at a stop-light in the left-turn lane, at 2 in the AFTERFUCKINGNOON. He blew a 0.28 on the breathalyzer. Until this point, I generally considered him one of my two smartest friends (about on par with Zebra, at least insofar as general math and science skills are concerned. Luckily, he didn't hit/kill anything/anyone/himself. Now, if and when he again criticizes my inability to understand the simple computerisms he so takes for granted, I will simply say to him in my most police-officerly voice "sir, you can't park your car in the middle of the street like this".

For once, something really interesting is happening on my birthday:

The ashes of Hunter S. Thompson, the late gonzo journalist, will be launched into space on Saturday in Woody Creek, Colo., as he requested.

Rather than a simple shot-from-a-cannon approach, it will take the form of his ashes being dispersed in a fireworks display in his back yard, near Aspen. Actor Johnny Depp, who played him in a movie, has been deeply involved in the planning, and is reportedly financing much of it.

It's a shame I won't be able to see it from here.

There is a copy of Lady's Home Journal magazine in the MEN's room here. When will the madness end?

Pro:
The wedding was a smash hit, with A) no federal agents, B) lots of great food and people, and C) the most beautiful, poignant wedding ceremony I've ever had the privelege of attending.

Con:
It's not easy being at the most touching wedding you've ever been to when one of the other guests is the only person you've ever seriously asked to marry you with their newer, younger, trombone-playin'-lips-havin' loverboy in tow.

Thank Sheba you have returned to us, rain!

OH EM GEE guys. I and my boy are leaving for the ILLEGAL HIPPIE LESBIAN RED-STATE WEDDING right now. Hopefully we won't get busted by the feds or Conservative Coalition-hired ninjas drop-lining from Apache helicopters and stuff. LATERS.

Thank you, shitty $24.99 DVD player purchased at W4lm4rt, for not allowing me to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind last night. You, unlike myself, realized that current life circumstances involving real-life personages who bear an uncanny resemblence to fictional personages in said film who may or may not have appeared out of the ether recently ensure an unnecessary emotional meltdown. And for that, I bequeath unto you the coveted title of Most Appreciated Electrical Doohickey In The House for July 2005.

Tonight: transactions, grilled flesh of moocow, maybe or maybe not "band" "practice" depending on how the other half is feeling, still not watching Eternal Sunshine... if I know what's best for me, Laundryathon '05 continues.
